Even though he’s still in his early thirties, Xan Campos has an impressive career, having published 5 albums in his own name and more than 20 others playing with other great names of the genre. Campos has a Jazz bachelor’s degree from the Musikene of Donosti in the speciality of piano. He also studied at some of the most renowned music conservatories in Europe. He has played in numerous festivals and venues and has shared the stage and recording studio with some of the most known and important names of the jazz scene. Besides Europe, he has performed overseas, in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and New York City.
For the past 15 years one of his most important and more personal projects is the Xan Campos Trio, a combo performing a style of contemporary jazz which is hard to label as it’s in continuous growth. The trio is praised by both critics and public by its unique originality and for setting the basis for their own style, becoming one of the stable names in the avant-garde of the new jazz of the century.
