As with all concerts under the 'ménage à jazz' label, a brand of Alternatilla, we present an unprecedented and multinational formation. Four musicians who have never played together before and who have dared to accept the festival's challenge with this concert.
The young Belgian saxophonist Matthias van den Brande has developed a strong personality within contemporary jazz, after training in his native Belgium, Amsterdam, and Philadelphia.
The renowned Catalan drummer Marc Miralta has an impressive musical career, with hundreds of concerts and more than fifty recorded albums.
Two musicians residing in Mallorca join in, although they come from very different backgrounds. Guitarist Milton Rodríguez was trained in the Basque Country, Holland, and New York; he currently leads an interesting project that establishes a bridge between jazz and Brazilian music. Swedish double bassist Marko Lohikari, after growing up as a musician between Sweden and Finland, has settled in Mallorca, playing a very active role in the island's music scene, working with various groups.
