At Alternatilla Jazz we want to promote artistic and creative bridges of collaboration between our local musicians and bands and guest performers in other countries. With the ménage à jazz concerts, a trademark of the house, we achieve one of the main objectives of the festival: taking advantage of the exchange and cultural diversity that makes the connection of musicians from different cultures possible. With these unique live performances, it is about uniting different ways of understanding jazz while prioritizing cultural fusion, hybridization of styles, instrumental dialogue and the surprise of improvisation.

This year’s closing concert and second ‘ménage à jazz’ features four very active musicians: the Danish pianist and composer Kathrine Windfeld, one of the rising stars of the European jazz scene. The Mallorcan double bassist Joan Garcia, who is currently very active on the Barcelona and national scene. Angelika Niescier is one of the most prominent, she has long been redefining the contours of the European jazz scene: an artist with boundless energy and virtuoso technique. And on the drums, the Mallorcan Teo Salvá trained at the Liceo Superior Conservatory and the ESEM-Taller de Músicos de Barcelona, with honorable mention for his final work.
