Trio formed in 2012 by Polish pianist Aga Derlak, with double bassist Tymon Trąbczyński and drummer Szymon Madej. The three are graduates of the prestigious Jazz Institute of the Music Academy in Katowice. They present a repertoire of their own compositions and arrangements, with an incalculable degree of risk and courage in their interpretations but without losing lyricism.

Since its creation, the trio has won numerous awards and competitions both in Poland and in other European countries. In 2016 Aga received great recognition by winning the Fryederyk, the most prestigious award in Polish music. In 2015 they released their debut album “First Thought” on the Slovak label Hevhetia, and in 2017 their second album “Healing”.

Aga Derlak Trio are, without a doubt, one of the most interesting formations of the new generation of Polish jazz, with a more than promising future.
