This title gives the name to the new teaching proposal within the program of parallel activities of the Alternatilla Jazz In Mallorca 2019 Festival.
An initiative that has the support of the Alternatilla School of Musical Experimentation and directed by the renowned Mallorcan jazz musician Toni Miranda, who will have the help of the “Miranda Jazz Band”.
This is a pedagogical activity where a musical journey is made through the most emblematic singer-songwriters and musical groups of the islands. The objective is to make known the artists who in one way or another have committed their lyrics to different social causes.
In order to reach the jazz aficionado public, all the compositions are reharmonized, in order to give them the expressiveness and sonority characteristic of this musical style.
The artists and groups chosen for the musical exhibition are: Al Mayurqa – Toni Roig – Biel Majoral: “Que té aquesta terra nostra”, Anegats: “Nuredduna”, Antònia Font: “Camp de maduixes”, Els Valldemossa – Toni Morlà: “Són coses del camp”, Guillem d’Efak: “Febre”, Ja T’ho Diré (Menorca): “Res no es mou”, Mª del Mar Bonet: “L’àliga negre”, Sis Som: “Es Carboner”, UC (Eivissa): “Anàrem a Sant Miquel”.
The aim is to reach all types of public with two objectives: the knowledge of some of the most symbolic artists in the musical culture of the islands and at the same time, to appreciate the harmonic and rhythmic potential of Jazz.
