Jazz concerts are one of the main characteristics of Alternatilla Jazz. They achieve one of the main objectives of the festival: to take advantage of the exchange and cultural diversity that makes it possible to connect musicians from different cultures. Thus, the program brings together different ways of understanding jazz while prioritizing cultural fusion, instrumental dialogue and the surprise of improvisation. On this occasion we propose a meeting between two Catalan musicians: the pianist Xavi Torres and the singer Magalí Sare and, on the other hand, the Cuban saxophonist, Ricardo Izquierdo, guest country in this edition and the Mallorcan musicians, the double bass player Marko Lohikari and the drummer Enric Fuster.

The hybridization of styles and spontaneity are protagonists in a promising plural conversation that will detonate the limits of jazz and expand the domains of this universal homeland called music. A unique live that can be enjoyed exclusively by the public of Alternatilla Jazz In Mallorca.

Xavi Torres - Piano - Catalunya: El pianista de Tarragona es uno de los músicos más destacados y con más proyección del panorama jazzístico europeo, con importantes premios como «Millor Grup de l'any 2015» por la AMJM, el primer premio en el Keep an Eye International Jazz Award, o el primer lugar en la «Dutch Jazz Competition 2016». Después de graduarse de Piano Jazz en la ESMUC de Barcelona, estudió el Máster de Jazz y la Licenciatura de Clásico en el Conservatorio van Amsterdam. Su música se caracteriza por una gran variedad de estilos y texturas que ejecuta con mucha libertad y singularidad. Es experto en combinar momentos muy compositivos con otros de absoluta libertad, o de mucha tensión y locura con otros de más melódicos. Ha grabado 4 discos como líder y más de 30 cd con diferentes proyectos, ha tocado con diversos músicos de gran reconocimiento. En su último álbum de piano solo 'Curiosity' (Just Listen Records, 2019) recibió el premio Enderrock en la categoría de Disco de Jazz del año 2019 y desde el nacimiento del Festival Alternatilla Jazz in Mallorca es el director artístico.

Ricardo Izquierdo - saxo - Cuba: Músico, compositor, saxofonista tenor y soprano. Nació en Matanzas, Cuba, el año 1978. A los 8 años comenzó a estudiar música a través del violoncelo y unos años más tarde se dedicó al saxo alto. En 1993 terminó los estudios en su ciudad natal y se marchó a la capital, La Habana. Admitido en la prestigiosa Escuela Nacional de Artes (ENA), continuó profundizando en sus conocimientos y mejorando sus cualidades como instrumentalista, siguió perfeccionando su aprendizaje actuando con el grupo Diàkara. Durante sus estudios en la ENA participó en talleres y clases magistrales con artistas como Hilario Duran, Herbie Hancock, Steve Coleman, Nicholas Payton y Antonio Hart. Se incorporó al quinteto del pianista Alexis Bosch después con Carlos Maza Cuarteto al lado del cual actuó en muchos festivales europeos como Jazz a la Villette, Nancy Jazz Pulsations, Jazz à Vienne, entre otros.

El año 2001 se trasladó a París. Ya ha actuado o colaborado con: Carlos Maza, Franck Lacy, Orlando Poleo, Mayra Andrade, Michel Zenino, John Betsch, IsWhat?! , Nelson Veras, Mario Canonge, Philippe Soirat, Bob Gullotti, Santi Debriano, Hamid Drake, Laurent Coq, Miklos Lukàcs,, Abioudun Oyewole ( Los últimos poetas), Orichas, Jean Jacques Elangué, Jean Luc Her, Remi Vignolo, Napoleon Maddox, Mauro Gargano, Ichiro Onoe, Jason Palmer, Jeff Ballard, Orishas, Bojan Z y otros.

Magalí Sare - voice - Catalunya: Singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer born in Barcelona in 1991, coming from a family of musicians. He released his first solo album entitled «Cançons d'amor i dimonis» in 2018 and officially presented it at the 50th Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival in Barcelona. Also, she is known for being soprano of the Quartet Mèlt (winners of the third edition of the TV3 program Oh Happy Day). In addition, she is the singer of the album ESTÓMAC of the pianist and composer Clara Peya, and has a duet with the bassist Manel Fortià. In November 2019 she closed the tour of her first album with more than 60 concerts and was nominated as Emerging Talent at the Premieres Alícia of the Catalan Academy of Music, as Newcomer on the Premis ARC of 2019 and finalist of the competition Terra i Cultura of 2019 for having musicized the poem 'Desplegar-se' by Sònia Moya. Apart from acting, Magalí teaches modern/jazz singing and as a senior at the Taller de Músics. Currently, he is touring with his latest project «A Boy & a Girl», together with the Mallorcan guitarist Sebastià Gris.

Marko Lohikari- double bass - Balears: Marko Lohikari was born in Uppsala, Sweden in 1979. He has studied double bass and improvisation at the University of Göteborg with the Swedish bassist, composer and teacher Anders Jormin. After his studies in Sweden, he attended the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. Resides in Spain since 2007 and has played with artists such as: Perico Sambeat, Chris Cheek, Shai Maestro, Luis Perdomo, Jason Palmer, Marco Mezquida, Albert Sanz, Marc Miralta, Carme Canela, Baptiste Trotignon, Jorge Rossy, David Xirgu, Raynald Colom and Baptiste Trotignon, among others.  

Enric Fuster - batería - Balears: Jove bateria mallorquí, resident in Barcelona. It is entitled to l'Aula del Conservatori de Liceu de grau professional, in the specialty of jazz drums, by Professor Gonzalo de la Vall. Guardonat amb la beca de jóvenes proves de la fundació Ferrer Salat, ha cursat el grado superior al Conservatori de Liceu, on a rebut classes de Ramon Prats, David Xirgu... Becat pel mateix Liceu, has attended the master of interpretation. During the musical journey to form part of the group Eva Fernàndez Trio, which has travelled from Korea to Buenos Aires. Amb ells, they are going to record the disc "I Ask". També ha gravat amb Pep Garau Sextet en directe i, forma parte dels grups Big Babo, Pablo Selnik Quartet, The Jazz Fingers, Liceu’s Big Band, Zero Gravity Family and Seven Sides.
