Benjamin Herman, sax

Benjamin Herman began playing the saxophone at the age of twelve. By thirteen, he was already playing on the professional circuit, and by his teens, he was performing regularly around the world with various jazz bands and ensembles while also beginning to develop his own projects.

It is not surprising that his fame spread beyond jazz circles in the 1990s when he formed the innovative New Cool Collective.

Having made a name and reputation as a solo artist as a teenager, he has since participated in more than one hundred albums released with all kinds of international artists, from Candy Dulfer to Misha Mengelberg.

Herman has also built his career and reputation as a composer, both in the Netherlands and internationally.

With their main lineup, New Cool Collective, as well as with other smaller lineups, their live performances are inspired by dance jazz, surf, punk, free jazz and traditional music from around the world, thus attracting fans of all kinds of musical genres, not just jazz fans.

Toni Miranda, guitar

Antoni Miranda (Ciutat de Mallorca, 1960). He became interested in jazz and met Salvador Font "Mantequilla" and Manolo Bolao, with whom he worked for several years. Founder of various jazz groups and a regular collaborator on recording sessions, he was a member of the Palma Big Band and represented the Balearic Islands at the 1989 National Jazz Festival. He is currently involved in several projects and performs classical guitar concerts with Jovan Milosevski throughout Europe. He is an electric guitar teacher, arranger, and music producer, and has composed music for television series.

Miranda combines her musical work with composing scores for various organizations on the island. In the educational sphere, it's worth mentioning her involvement with drummer Jimmy Weinstein's "Traveling School," with whom she organizes various jazz seminars and educational concerts throughout the Balearic Islands.

Marko Lohikari, double bass

Marko Lohikari was born in Uppsala, Sweden in 1979. He studied double bass and improvisation at the University of Gothenburg with the Swedish bassist and composer, Professor Anders Jormin. After his studies in Sweden, he attended the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. He has lived in Spain since 2007 and has performed with artists such as Perico Sambeat, Chris Cheek, Shai Maestro, Luis Perdomo, Jason Palmer, Marco Mezquida, Albert Sanz, Marc Miralta, Carme Canela, Baptiste Trotignon, Jorge Rossy, David Xirgu, Raynald Colom, and Baptiste Trotignon, among many others.

Joan Terol, Drums

Joan Terol Amigó is a musician from Reus, born in 1985. He currently resides in Amsterdam, though he remains connected to the Catalan music scene. His main projects today are the Xavi Torres Trio, Maartje Meijer Quintet, Trempera!, Pablo Martínez Flamenco-Jazz Band, The BVR Flamenco Big Band, and Els Tres Tenors.

Throughout his musical career, he has had the opportunity to play as a sideman for jazz luminaries such as Benny Golson, Lee Konitz, Jordi Rossy, Jesse Davis, Maria Schneider, Grant Stewart, Dena DeRose, Joe Magnarelli, Perico Sambeat, Aruanã Ortiz, and Carla Cook. He has also been fortunate to play with prominent jazz musicians from the Dutch scene, including Maarten Hogenhuis, Ben van Gelder, Joris Roelofs, Reinier Baas, Benjamin Herman, Jasper Blom, and Miguel Rodríguez, as well as from the Catalan music scene: Marco Mezquida, Joan Monné, Albert Bover, Raynald Colom, Marc Miralta, Ignasi Terraza, Llibert Fortuny, Horacio Fumero, Mario Rossy, Eladio Reinón, and Bob Sands.

At age 14, he began drum lessons at the El Xilòfon school in Reus. In 2003, he moved to Barcelona to continue his musical studies, first at the Aula de Música Moderna i Jazz and then at ESMuC. In 2011, he decided to move to Amsterdam to pursue a master's degree in jazz at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and settle in the capital of the Netherlands.
