This workshop will focus on training the ear through melody. Melody is one of the most essential elements found in any form of music, from songs to symphonic works. It is the core of a musical piece and the most defining factor when recognizing or distinguishing one work from another.

Scales, intervals, and arpeggios are key concepts when it comes to analyzing or creating a melody, and we will explore them through a variety of activities and examples. The focus will be on creativity in both interpretation and composition, as well as on the transcription of listening examples.

The workshop is led by Irene Reig, an initiative made possible thanks to the collaboration of our members and the coordinators of AEDEM (Alternatilla School for Musical Experimentation).
