After having participated in numerous musical projects and having recorded his first album as leader , -Day by Day, accompanied by musicians of national and international renown such as Michael Kanan and Jorge Rossy and published with the label Fresh Sound New Talent- , now debuts a new project that has already taken shape and has become his second album as a leader: "Trav'lin' Light" which follows in the line of the popular American songbook, the jazz standards.
Mayte Alguacil, born in Madrid, began her musical studies at the age of twelve. After completing his studies in cross flute, he moves to Barcelona to complete his studies in cross flute at the Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMuC). In this same center begins his interest for jazz and becomes his main priority, and once finished the cross flute career he prepares the entrance tests in the specialty of jazz singing at the same center, obtaining the first place. Studies completed in 2011 with a degree in jazz singing. During his stay in New York in 2016, he was tutored by Chris Cheek and Marion Cowings.
As a teacher, Mayte has worked in different schools of Barcelona as singing and combo teacher at the Conservatori Superior del Liceu.. He has also been part of the teaching staff of various jazz seminars such as the International Jazz Seminar in Alhaurín de la Torre (Malaga) or the V International Jazz Seminar in Ciudad Almendralejo (Badajoz).
As a singer he has participated in numerous projects, among which the most important are those that have been consolidated into a record work. Has performed in different cycles and festivals throughout the province of Barcelona and the rest of Spain: Reus Jazz Festival, L'Empordà Jazz Festival, Cornellà Jazz & Beer Festival, Seville Jazz Festival, Malaga Jazz Festival, Moaña Jazz Festival (Vigo) and in different emblematic places such as the Jamboree among others.
